BUILDING YOUR HOME
Framing is perhaps the most exciting part of the building process. Looking at plans is fine, but when the walls go up, rooms take shape and the home owner can really see what is to come.

Walls appear.

The walls are assembled on the floor and then lifted into place. Here the home owner checks out the framing for the "Great Room" view wall with Maude. The size and weight of this wall will require a crane for lifting. The windows for the Great Room have already been selected and ordered. Window dimensions are necessary to allow framing of the walls.

Tim Brown, the excavator, lends a hand with raising the view wall for the Great Room. Notice the coordinated effort, as bracing is put in place while Mike works at the top with clamps and a nail gun.

Side panels are raised into place to complete the framing of the Great Room wall.

Not a job for the faint of heart. Mike works on top to attach the just raised link to the window wall.

The setting sun lights up the inside of the newly framed Great Room view wall.

The framing crew now moves to the front entry area. The massive frame for the front entry is raised into place.

Getting ready for the second story. This beam is located over the kitchen area.

The Master Bedroom is on the left of the Great Room. This home has a large Master Bath with a built-in jetted tub just inside the windows on the far left. The windows are at tub level and have a commanding view of Downtown Reno and the Reno-Sparks area. The Home Office is on the right. The plywood sheeting provides shear stability for the structure.

Trusses are loaded onto the roof.

All of the trusses are loaded onto the roof, and the roof is ready for a cover.
